Pictured here is Skip Holm, in the cockpit of Dago Red, A modified P-51 that has won at the Reno Air Races... Skip has participated in 79 air races held at Stead Field in Reno, Nevada. He has won 21 times in a P-51. Not to shabby! His combat hours are the highest for any active or retired fighter pilot.from the U.S. Air Force.Skip flew both F-105's and F-4's while doing three tours in Viet Nam, Skip piled up over 1172 combat hours. That'a a lot of time sitting on your tushy (Yiddish for rear end). Holds 3 DFC's plus 25 Air Medals. Also holds a BS and MS in Aeronautical Engineering. He did all of the flying work for the movie "Right Stuff" , plus the movie, "Hot Shots Part Deux" and numerous other aviation pictures.Former Air Force test pilot background, plus test pilot for the famed "Skunk Works" under Kelly Johnson. A super nice person to hang around with, and we have flown side by side. Currently residing in California, where theoretically the weather is nice most of the time.... except for fires, floods, windstorms, sandstorms, plus the occasional landslide....

Picture inset is Mike Keenum, a good friend of many years, and his Reno Air Race machine. The Sea Fury...Mike also flew his F-86 Sabre at Oshkosh in a two ship F-86 with Tom Wood of Indianapolis, Indiana. The Sea Fury of owned by Mike, is called, "Riff Raff" and both Mike and Hoot Gibson, the former astronaut, fly the unlimited class at the Reno Air Races..Mike and his crew have been at the Reno Air Races for many years with the Sea Fury, and while not placing first, have made an impressive showing each year....

THE T-2 BUCKEYE PICTURED BELOW BELONGS TO DR. RICH SUGDEN OF WYOMING....

Yep.... I have flown this T-2 Buckeye U.S. Navy Training Jet. It is owned and flown by Dr. Rich Sugden of Jackson, Wyoming. One of the most pristine jets in anyone's collection. Dr. Sugden is the FBO at Driggs, Idaho which is located about 30 miles west of Jackson.... or just over the range of Tetons. Field elevation is 6500 feet so density altitude is a definite factor when flying out of this airport. One of the most beautiful FBO's in the west and one of the best dining rooms that abound in the Jackson area....

Dr. Rich Sugden spent his time with the USNavy as a Flight Surgeon and was instrumental in a lot of high altitude research. Currently Teton Aviation (Dr. Sugden) conducts a school for L-39 pilots and owners at his FBO in Driggs, Idaho, which is approximately 30 miles west of Jackson, Wyoming. Considered one of the finest schools in the USA for the Aerovodochody L-39 Albatross. I did a video shoot of the school during one of the sessions with about twelve owner/pilots in attendance. Also one of the most beautiful locations in the west with the Teton Range of Mountain as a backdrop. His collection of Warbirds is second to none. The restaurant at the FBO is high class, with one of the top chef's in the west in the kitchen....This is the man who taught me when and when not to use the rudder pedals in a jet!
