About

The "Uncle Jack"call sign was given to me by a friend, to make sure I was awake in the cockpit  and not half asleep.  Making it to the mid-eighties didn't come easy and after surviving the perils of World War II life provided the usual ups and downs, as opposed to being on an even keel all the time.  But all in all it has been a good life, rewarding, interesting, and always going to the next hill to see what might appear on the horizon.....

Welcome to my site....we are getting our act together....
We're getting along in years but still staying fairly busy.  I have just finished a stint as Editor of the EAA Warbirds of America magazine.  I've been writing for this publication for over twenty years and hopefully have entertained some of the membership with my stories about flying and aviation, coupled with a five year committment to the United States Navy before and during World War II. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1941..then I
served in the Asiatic/Pacific theatre for  a little over 39 months and the medals will show participation in seven major engagements in the Asiatic/Pacific  theatre, plus three major engagements in the Liberation of the Phillipine islands. Also received three Presidential Citations for group activity in some of the above engagements.  I still fly, much slower, much safer, and spend much less time spent in the cockpit.  If I pull 2 G's, I am maxed out.  Married the prettiest girl I could find, spent 43 years with her, before she passed on, and raised five children in the process.  Life has been full..Life has been good... Life has been rich

Well, that’s pretty much my life.  It's never been dull, Trust that yours is as good! Hopefully we can add a few more events to this site as the years move on....
